Aronimink Golf Club has been chosen to host the 2020 KPMG Women's PGA Championship as well as the 2027 PGA Championship, according to a report from the Philadelphia Inquirer. An official announcement from the PGA of America is expected Tuesday.The Newtown Square, Pa., course hosted its first and to date only PGA Championship in 1962, when Gary Player won by a shot. It also hosted the Quicken Loans National in both 2010 and 2011 and is scheduled to host the BMW Championship for the first time in September.Aronimink was originally scheduled to host the 1993 PGA Championship before withdrawing in 1990 because they would not be able to integrate their membership before the tournament. That championship was ultimately contested at Inverness Club in Ohio.The announcement continues a recent flood of host site unveilings from the PGA of America. Last week officials revealed that Olympic Club in San Francisco will host both the 2028 PGA and the 2032 Ryder Cup, while a formal announcement is expected later this week that the PGA Championship will return to Valhalla in 2024.With Valhalla and Aronimink now on the future schedule, it leaves only three open dates in the next decade-plus: 2025, 2026 and 2029. The PGA Championship will likely go to Southern Hills in Tulsa, Okla., one of those years, as the course was promised earlier this year that it would host another PGA sometime before 2030.The KPMG has moved around the country since the PGA of America took over the event in 2015. Played last year at Olympia Fields outside Chicago, the tournament will head next year to Kemper Lakes Golf Club in Illinois and then to Hazeltine National Golf Club in Minnesota in 2019.
