ORLANDO, Fla. Muirfield is officially back in line to once again host The Open, but Rory McIlroy isnt pleased that it took the club two tries to get its membership policy correct.The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers voted Tuesday to allow female members for the first time in the clubs 273-year history, with 80.2 percent of members supporting the change. A two-thirds majority was required for approval, and the measure received only 64 percent of support during an initial vote in May.Speaking at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, McIlroy was candid with his reaction to the vote, and the fact that a second ballot was even required.

In this day and age, where youve got women that are like the leaders of certain industries and women that are heads of state and not to be able to join a golf course? I mean, its obscene.
