SOUTHPORT, England Alfie Plant had the week of his 25-year-old life.The amateur from London took a selfie with Lee Westwood early in the week, made the cut on Friday then strolled up Royal Birkdales 18th fairway Sunday to thunderous applause and was awarded the silver medal that goes with The Opens low amateur.Plant shot 71-73-69-73 to shoot 3-over-par 286.Its been absolutely amazing, Plant said. It sent shivers down my spine walking up the last.The whole Open experience has been a whirlwind. Plant only qualified for Royal Birkdale three weeks ago when he won the European Amatuer in a playoff at Walton Heath.So, that gave him little time to prepare for his first major championship. But his family scrambled and ultimately 150 friends and family made the trip from London up to Manchester to support their man.

They rented a house in nearby Formby. At the beginning of the week there were only three people in the house. By weeks end, the number had grown up to 15 with people sleeping all over the place.As a son at first you get a bit embarrassed, Plant said of all the support. Amazing ! I bought these seeds a little late, and planted them July 14. They took off immediately, but I didn't have blooms until September (because they should have been planted June 1st. Absolutely amazing. I kept making flower arrangements for everyone. Next year I will plant near June 1 to extend the season.

I am going to have to break it open and transplant it. But it is an awesome idea. The only improvement I could suggest is to put it in a bigger container so that it has more time to grow before you have to remove it. I will defiantly buy another one!!!! I have added a picture of how big the plant was the day we bought it and now! It's amazing.

I've heard that Mycorrhizal fungi are either of no or very limited benefit in an aeroponics system or they cannot live in aeroponics as there is no medium for them to colonize (I thought they could colonize the root system in that case) but I have the urge to try mycorrhizae has excellent properties in aeroponics & you just have to watch that they do not clog your misters.
